Making a homemade salad dressing with turmeric not only adds a vibrant colour and flavour to your salads but also provides anti-inflammatory benefits.
4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Juice and zest of 2 unwaxed lemons
1 tsp Turmeric4U
Pinch of sea salt to taste
¼ avocado
1 garlic clove minced
1 tsp honey
METHOD
Whizz all the ingredients together in a blender. If you prefer a thicker consistency, you can add more avocado.
You can be generous with the oil in your dressings, not only do they make the salad taste better, but, the oil increases the absorption of some nutrients, whilst slowing down the absorption of starch carbohydrates and sugars. So helping you feel full for longer.
Adapted from a recipe in “The Clever Guts Diet” by Dr. Michael Mosley. For those of you interested in reducing your inflammation, which is all of you as you are taking Turmeric4U; I think this is a really interesting and thought provoking read. I picked up my copy from KMart for $16.
